The Ferrari Aliante Concept was created by three students from the IED, Istituto Europeo di Design, in Turin Italy. Daniel Soriano (Spain), Magnus Grettve (Sweden) and Arun Kumar (India) collaborated for 6 months on this design project. Daniel provided the insight to their project.
Their vision was to create a carbon fiber chassis with integrated seats and dashboard to keep the car light in weight. The profile of the car is low and without doors. Aerodynamically designed it has an adjustable spoiler that reacts to increased speed and braking. Designed as a Hybrid car with a 3.0 V6 Turbo it is supported by an electric engine to potentially produce 750hp. The interior is water and dirt repellent and the intent is to provide passengers with a waterproof suit and helmet as there is no roof available. This roadster was given the name Aliante, which means “glider” in Italian, an experience sensed when driving this machine.
