The 2010 BMW M3 GT2 Jeff Koons Art Car was unveiled in front of 300 international VIP guests at the premiere of the 17th BMW Art Car at the Centre Pompidou in Paris in June of 2010. BMW announced that the 17th Art Car created by Jeff Koons actually raced in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in June of 2010.

As part of his creative process, Jeff Koons collected images of various racecars, related images and graphics, vibrant colors, speed and explosions. . The resulting artwork all over the body of the car is evocative of power, bursting energy and motion. The goal of the Art Car is to impart a dynamic appearance even when it is standing still. Jeff Koons autographed his creation at the Art Car event. Because this BMW M3 is a racecar, there are many features including the large rear wing and side exhausts that would not be found on street cars and are on the car for improved racing performance.

In traditional racecar style, BMW engineers have stripped out all unnecessary equipment from inside the cabin of the 2010 BMW M3 Jeff Koons Art Car. One thing that the engineers made sure to do was to make the seats and the interior trim silver, as per the requests of Jeff Koons. A roll cage, lightweight racing seats, and air intakes replacing air conditioning all save weight and make this a track monster.

The 2010 BMW M3 GT2 Jeff Koons Art Car is derived from the BMW M3 high-performance sports car that all car-lovers have come to love. The BMW M3 boasts a 4.0-liter V8, producing 500 horsepower and rocketing the M3 GT2 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds.
