About This Car

- Quick Specs -

This car was part of the Mecum auction in Monterey on August 16-8, 2012. It was a full custom built by Jay Everett in 1952 with aircraft inspired tubular frame and aluminum body. The complete restoration was completed by coachbuilder JF Launier in 2007, restoring it to its 1955 configuration. It includes a 303 CI Olds Rocket V-8 engine and a Lincoln automatic transmission. It also includes a Ford tube axle, 102" wheelbase, bucket seats, as well as Astra Coupe badges. It was featured in virtually every major custom and hot rod publication throughout the 1950s.
