The Willys MB Jeep returned from World War II a proven workhorse and promptly went back to work as the CJ 2A (Civilian Jeep). Its economy, rugged simplicity and go-anywhere nature proved invaluable to ranchers, farmers and anybody who needed to go off-road.
The fondness that returning troops had for their often-abused beast of burden resulted in 214,760 CJ 2As being sold between 1945 and 1949, with the little “Go-Devil” 134-cubic inch flathead four-cylinder engine and dual-range transmission.
This car was auctioned off by RM Auctions in January of 2011 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa, Phoenix, Arizona.
